YOG 2010

MI is proud to be part of the inaugural YOUTH OLYMPICS 2010!

yog relayOn 12th August 2010, Martyn Aw (10S4) and Genesis Santos (09B3) will represent MI as torchbearers as part of the Journey of the Olympic Flame. This will take place in the vicinity of the campus.

MI welcomes Argentina and Guinea-Bissau sporting teams to Singapore for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in 2010.

MI wins the Joint HPB-MOE Cherish Award 2010 (Silver)

For the second year running, Health Promoting Schools (HPS) are recognised for their efforts in promoting the physical, social, mental and emotional well-being of all students, staff and the school community through this Award.

Out of the 16 Junior Colleges / Centralised Institute entries, Millennia Institute (MI) emerged as one of the deserving winners in the ‘Silver Award’ category. In total, there are two ‘Gold Award’, nine ‘Silver Award’ and five ‘Bronze Award’ recipients this year. 

The Joint HPB-MOE CHERISH Award framework was introduced to schools in 2007. With MOE’s strong support, the number of schools receiving the Joint HPB-MOE CHERISH Award increased from 289 in 2008 to 315 in 2010.

SPEA PE Teacher Award (Merit)

The award is given out once every two years to recognise the oustanding contributions PE teachers have made to the development and promotion of PE in Singapore. Well Done, Mr Chua!
