Activism
Activism is a word synonymous with our members who were involved in the many activist projects embarked in 2009. Though the projects were halted amid the H1N1 outbreak, our members were undaunted by the setbacks. They persevered with the spirit of volunteerism in school activities by helping out as First Aiders during the Millennia Institute Official Opening on 16 May 2009. Two members have since attended the two-day First Aid course.

Tutoring Services
Unlike previous years, this year we extended our weekly tutoring services to two new schools, namely Jurongville Secondary School and Princess Elizabeth Primary School. Our members’ dedication in tutoring was evident in their patience and their high percentage of attendance.  

Recognition
One of our project coordinators, Magala, received the Community Involvement Award during the 2009 Institute Day for her dedicated and passionate services rendered. Recognition of efforts has always been a driving force for SLC members to serve the community at large.

In conclusion, 2009 has been a fruitful year for the Service Learning Club and we are certain that with the upcoming activities planned going forward, 2010 will be just as productive as well.
