The Chinese Cultural Society (CCS) had a great year filled with activities and achievements.

One of our major accolades was the winning of a Silver Award in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Chinese drama competition for the second consecutive year. CCS was also invited to stage the SYF Chinese drama play “The Patient” in Hua Yi Festival at the Esplanade concourse in 2010. The play drives us to question our lives and sense of identity - do we know who we really are or has the hectic pace of life eroded our sense of self?

The CCS executive committee also organised the second K-pop Chinese songs singing competition. Professional singers were invited to judge and perform in the final round of the competition. This year, teachers also participated in the competition, which added an interesting and lively touch to the event.

Throughout 2009, CCS also held various enrichment activities such as glutinous rice ball making sessions and a traditional Chinese ink painting workshop. Visits were also organised to the relevant historical sites such as the Sun Yat Sen memorial hall and Peranakan Museum, as well as the Kang Xi exhibition, which featured the history of China.
