In 2009, the main event for the MI Wushu team was the national Wushu Championships ‘A’ Divisions Tournaments. The team trained hard and the members willingly sacrificed their free time for extra practices. The team also went through intensive training programmes during the holidays. The additional effort put in by the team for the competition demonstrated tremendous team spirit and cohesion. On top of that, the team clinched one silver medal, two bronze medals and two 4th positions in the individual category.

Besides boosting their stamina and fitness through vigorous training sessions, the Wushu Team members honed their skills by practicing for performances during the CCA open house and the Chinese New Year celebrations. For the latter, the Wushu Team performed for both the Institute and Princess Elizabeth Primary School. As part of their enrichment programme, the members also attended showcases such as the “8th National Wushu Display” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, which featured performances of various types of Wushu such as Kungfu and Taiji.

The Wushu Team’s aspiration for the year 2010 is to extend its members’ passion for Wushu to a larger population. The MI Wushu Team hopes to bring further glory to Millennia Institute.
