Looking Back
Officially established in January 2004, Millennia Institute (MI) is Singapore's only three year pre- university institution offering the GCE 'A' level programme. Today, MI has grown in statute and is home to about 1450 students taking courses in the Arts, Science and Business in a brand new campus.
The journey in the last 5 years has been marked with clear and sustained success in the following areas:
• TAF Gold Award (2004-2008) and MINDEF Physical Fitness Award (Best Performer Award: 2004-2007, Merit 2008) thus achieving MOE Sustained Achievement Award (Physical Fitness) 2007-2009.

Drama (2006-Silver, Bronze-2008), Chinese Drama (Silver-2007, 2009) and Band (Bronze-2009)
• International achievement at the FIRST VEX Robotics World Championship (previously known as FIRST VEX Challenge) and consistently winning at least an award at the finals held in Atlanta, USA from 2005 to 2006 (Winning Alliance and Inspire Awards (2005), Winning Alliance (2006), Think Award (2007).

• Established a clear dual-track education path for our students to pursue an additional diploma programme, with a choice of 7 different programmes to meet different needs.
• Increasing student enrolment from 970 (2004) to 1430 (2009).
Going Forward
Within a short time, MI has catapulted itself into the limelight to attract aspirants for university education through the A-Level route. With the offering of dual track education, and the move to a brand new purpose-built campus at Bt Batok, we are well placed to make MI an institute of distinction.
Going forward, we will strategically focus on our core business of ensuring effective teaching and learning. Beyond content learning, we will target to impart in our students a set of 21st century skills (ie. inventive, communication, information literacy and life-skills) to enable them to stay relevant and adaptable in a dynamic changing world. Beyond the local environment, we will develop global citizens with a sense of rootedness to the family & Singapore. Beyond just the usual achievements by everyone in the institute, we will target to nurture the talented in our fold to achieve greater successes so that they will be icons to inspire others to achieve more.
MI will be a place of opportunities for all - where students of all abilities are given the support and encouragement to explore multiple routes to achieve success. MI will be a place where our students are heard and where their opinions count. MI will be a place for students to explore and express - where there are platforms and support for students to take initiative to try, test and possibly fail without fear. MI will be a familial environment which is safe and supportive of students in their growth, learning and development. In short, MI will be a home away from home for students and alumni alike.
I therefore call on all staff, students and stakeholders to join us in our journey into the future to make Millennia Institute a unique institute of distinction with a business focus.
