PROJECT WORK

Project Work has been used for admission to the National University of Singapore and the Nanyang Technological University since 2005. 10% of university entry points applicants with the GCE 'A' level will be computed from Project Work grades.

According to Ministry of Education guidelines, Junior Colleges implement Project Work for JC 1 students while Centralised Institutes implement Project Work for Pre-U 2 students. Hence, Millennia Institute has the advantage of having more curriculum time to prepare students for Project Work.

At MI, Pre-U 1 students carry out a small research project for Mother Tongue. Students then write a formal report on their research using the same format as the Project Work written report.

In Pre-U 2, Project Work begins in April and ends with the Oral Presentation in November. From April to October, students search for data and information, and write and submit a formal written report on their research. Students may also carry out surveys or interviews. This process is supervised by teachers. After the school's Promotion Examinations in October, students prepare for the Project Work Oral Presentation which will be carried out in early November.

Results for Project Work will be released in the following year, when the students are in Pre-U 3.
