Faezah Kosno was grateful that she chose a longer route although she was eligible for junior college as she was given a chance to acquire accounting skills through the dual-track programme that Millennia Institute offers. Although she had to sacrifice many Saturdays and school holidays, she considers herself lucky to have enrolled in the CAT (Certified Accounting Technician) programme as she believes it will help her forge a career in the financial sector.

S Aravind has not let his physical shortcomings stand in the way of his dreams. He has never considered his eyesight problems to be a disability. He has attained excellent results in his GCE A-levels, emerging as one of the top Indian students in Millennia Institute. Aravind aspires to be a teacher in the future.

He is blind in one eye and switched to a new subject in his second year of study, but 19-year-old S Aravind was bent on defeating the odds. And when the GCE A-level results were released, Aravind proved his doubters wrong by scoring two distinctions – one in the new subject of Higher Tamil and the other in Mathematics. In the year leading up to the A-level exams, Aravind has one-on-one sessions with his teachers, staying back regularly after school for coaching in his weaker subjects.

Also achieving beyond expectations was Millennia Institute student Aravind Subramaniam. The 19-year-old, who is blind in one eye, scored two As in Tamil and Mathematics. H also scored an A and two Bs for his H1 subjects of Tamil Literature, PW and GP respectively.

Millennia Institute’s A-level pass rate has increased from 44% to 54%. More students are eligible for university this year. Millennia Institute not only focuses on the curriculum but also develops students’ soft skills. The teachers encourage students to strengthen their analysis skills, express their views during lessons and collaborate with overseas partner schools to promote a greater interest among the students for their academic work.

He Wen Jun (Jasden Hoe) has done well for his A-level exams despite obtaining an aggregate of 25 for his L1R5 in his O-level exams. He shares that the only way to study is to put in effort and clarify doubts with teachers. In order to improve his GP grades, he shares that he wrote essays for his teachers to mark and read magazines everyday.
