OVERVIEW
Project Work is an authentic form of learning which aims to provide students with the opportunity to synthesize knowledge from various fields, and critically and creatively apply it to real life situations. This process enhances students’ knowledge and equips them with essential skills to prepare them for the challenges ahead.
Project Work provides learners with the opportunity to break away from the compartmentalisation of knowledge and skills. In line with the desired outcomes of education, students will learn to:
Synthesise cross-disciplinary knowledge
Generate, develop and evaluate ideas and information
Communicate effectively and present ideas clearly and coherently
Work collaboratively in teams
Reflect and improve on their own learning
PROJECT WORK IN MILLENNIA INSTITUTE
A committee of teachers, under the leadership of Subject Head, Mr Cheng Ngee Hiang oversees the implementation of the programme in the institute.
The committee works closely with the Singapore Examination and Assessment Board (SEAB)’s Process Skills Unit to ensure adherence to examination requirements. It also conducts training and develops resources for both students and teachers.
All students will go through the year-long Project Work cycle in Pre-University Two. They will be assigned to groups to carry out the project under the supervision and guidance of their Supervising Tutors.
