International Students

International students intending to study in Millennia Institute must follow the application procedures outlined below. Each step in the application process must be completed in order to ensure the student's smooth admission into Millennia Institute, subject to availability of vacancy.

Applications for 2010 Admission is open!


1. Submit application for 2010 Admission

a. All international students seeking admission to schools must complete the “Checklist: Application for School Admission of International Students” for the school to determine the status of the international student.


b. Children of S Pass or Work Permit (R Pass) holders, without DP, IEO and whose parents are not Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents need to register for centralised testing. The information can be found at MOE International Student (IS) website


c. International students should also submit the following documents in addition to those required by Checklist: Application for School Admission of International Students.

(i) Latest School Report Book and Education Certificates

(ii) Birth Certificate of International Student.

(iii) Co-curricular activities records or other achievement records


d. In addition, they will also need to submit the Direct Admission Form (with all the necessary supporting documents). You may refer to the possible subject combination for choice of options. The forms must be submitted in person or by post. They must reach the Institute before the given deadline.


Admission / Re-admission Criteria

All international students must meet the following standard admission criteria first before any placement tests are given.

  • Age

International students must meet the following age criteria for admission.

  • Not being overage by more than 2 years above the correct age for admission.
  • Not being underage. Exceptional cases will be referred to Pupil Placement Section (PPS) for consideration.
  • Direct admission to critical levels i.e. Pre-U2 and Pre-U3 are not encouraged as students would not have enough preparation time for the year-end national examinations.
  • International students must provide documentary proof of the last level completed together with the application form.


The closing date for 2010 admission application by International Student is 28th December 2009. Any application received after the closing date will not be considered.


If the Institute has vacancy, short-listed applicants will be notified to come for an interview with the admission officer if necessary. All applicants are required to sit for J-PACT admission tests on English and Mathematics conducted by an external agency Principal Academy. Applicants who are interested in offering H2 Mathematics and Science subjects are required to sit for relevant placement tests organised by the school in addtion of the J-Pact admission tests. They will be issued a letter of acknowledgement each only after they have cleared the relevant tests.


Age of an applicant is as given in the table below, where the correct age (CA) and maximum age (MA) are indicated.

2. Placement Test and SOLAR+ Registration Acknowledgement Letter (SRAL)

For applicants offering Science Course, in addtion of the J-Pact admission tests, they are required to sit for placement tests on Additional Maths and relevant science subjects (e.g. if aplicant intends to offer H2 Physics, placement test on physics will be a requirement). Applicants for other courses who want to offer H2 Mathematics are required to sit for placement test on Additional Maths in addition of the J-Pact admission tests. All these tests are at GCE “O” level standard.The Institute will charge a fee of $44.00 for the first subject and $22.00 for every additional subject.


Placement Test Date: 6th January 2010 and 7th January 2010

Time: 9 am, report to the General Office Reception Counter


All applicants who sit for the placement tests will be notified of the outcome latest by the 22 January 2010.


The Institute will accept the applicants who have passed the admission test and relevant placement tests. A SOLAR+ Registration Acknowledgement Letter (SRAL), after registering the applicants via SOLAR+, will be generated for the applicants to apply for student's pass from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).


The applicant will forfeit his/her admission to the Institute if he/she does not return within 2 weeks.


3. Apply for a Student Pass

Upon receiving the SRAL the applicant must proceed to ICA to apply for a Student Pass. The applicant must produce the original SRAL endorsed by the Institute to ICA.


Applicants who are holding a Dependent Pass (DP) or an Immigration Exemption Order (IEO) do not need to apply for a Student Pass from ICA. He/She can be admitted by the Institute immediately upon passing the admission test and relevant placement tests.


4. Present Student Pass to School within 2 Weeks

Upon receiving the Student Pass, the applicant is required to present his/her Student Pass to the Institute for admission within two weeks of the issue of the Letter of Acceptance. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of his/her place in the Institute.
