BUSINESS RELATED DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Diploma in Business Management
Offered by MDIS, the oldest not-for-profit professional institute in Singapore for lifelong learning, the Diploma in Business Management is designed to impart comprehensive skills and knowledge to participants and equip them with an understanding of business operations in a changing business environment. The programme is conducted on a modular basis and consists of 8 modules of study. A-level students studying Economics, Management of Business and Accounting at H2 level are granted conditional exemption from certain modules. Upon completion of the course, participants will be given advanced consideration to various business programmes from at least 10 reputed universities in Australia, UK and the US.
Diploma in Enterprise Development
The Diploma in Enterprise Development is offered by the Asian Centre for Professional Excellence (ACPE), the academic subsidiary of ERC Holdings. The programme is accredited by IPMA, an international examining, licensing and regulatory professional body. This programme comprises a total of 7 modules and covers fundamental entrepreneurship knowledge and skills such as managing work processes and effective organisational behaviour. A-level students studying Management of Business and Accounting at H2 level are granted conditional exemption from certain modules. Participants will also be emplaced on a mentorship programme with mentors from the ERC Board of Advisors or other renowned entrepreneurs. ACPE will also provide access to capital for exciting entrepreneurial ventures developed by participants of up to S$100,000. Upon completion of the course, participants will be given advanced consideration to various business programmes from at least 9 reputed universities in Australia, UK and the US.
Diploma in Business Administration (Business, Travel and Tourism)
This programme is offered by the Newcastle School of Management (NSM), a local private school registered with MOE. The Diploma has been designed to satisfy the pre-requisites for entry into the Bachelor of Business programmes from both James Cook and Macquarie University. The programme comprises 6 modules. A-level students studying Management of Business at H2 level are granted conditional exemption from "Principle of Marketing" module. Participants who have completed the programme are ideally set up to take on jobs in the travel agencies, airlines and airports, including Customs and Immigration. The expected addition of 100,000 jobs to the tourism sector by 2015 will also provide ample career opportunities for participants. The NSM & James Cook University (Singapore) jointly offers the Undergraduate Merit Scholarship to two best performing students in each cohort of graduating students to pursue the Bachelor in Business course in the local campus.
ACCOUNTANCY RELATED DIPLOMA PROGRAMME
ACCA's Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Programme
The CAT programme, which is an entry point to a career in Accountancy, equips students with the necessary technical skills and knowledge to start a career in finance. In collaboration with the Singapore Accountancy Academy, the training arm of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore, Millennia Institute offers students a unique opportunity to graduate with an internationally recognised qualification in its own right whilst also providing a stepping stone to the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Professional Scheme. CAT graduates are able to fast track towards becoming professional accountants via the ACCA route as they are granted exemption from Part 1 of the ACCA professional examinations. The CAT programme, which is conducted on a modular basis, comprises 9 modules. However, A-Level students studying Principles of Accounting and Management of Business at H2 levels are granted conditional exemptions from the first 3 modules.
